The objective of this site is to show viewers the many options available in a Drupal website. These include: front page stories, External web links, contact me form, index pages and articles (Books), News, an "About" page, forum, search, login. Other advanced features include news aggregation. The site's "look and feel" can be easily changed using the "switch themes" button in the left column, even for just a test look.

Taxonomy of content
Submitted by dontai on Wed, 04/01/2009 - 17:12We can organize our content using cateories and subcatgories. A book is a good example, with chapters that separate parts of the book, and subsections of each chapter that separate aprts of a chapter. This type of organization is hierarchical, like an upside down tree.
Another way to organize content is by taxonomy. These are keywords set up by the site owner or librarian. These keywords allow documents to be organized in a non-herarchical manner, allowing for a different search technique.
Open House now has switchable themes
Submitted by dontai on Wed, 03/25/2009 - 21:05Open House now has switchable themes. Try them all out. The content does not change, but the look and feel can be updated at the click of your mouse. If you know a theme you like, I can add it.
Employee Information and Listing
Submitted by dontai on Tue, 02/03/2009 - 01:29I've added an Employee type form that has information about a specific company employee. Fictitious information about these employees have been added. These employees can be viewed in the "Employee Listing By HR Level" link.
The Employee form has additional fields, and more fields can be added as needed. The employee view displays this information, sorted by emplyee hr level, or last name. Further sorting can be done as required.
Adding content to this web site
Submitted by dontai on Fri, 01/30/2009 - 03:21Adding content to this site takes 2 easy steps: signup and then writing. Once signup is complete, it is the content providers and not the website administrator that adds and updates content. These content providers do not need to have much technical training.
Signup: Anyone who wants to contribute to this site can signup. They will input their names, IDs and passwords. A web administrator, who need be technical, can approve them. Once they have an ID and password, they can sign into the web site.
